Developing a Bespoke Curriculum
New to 2018-19, Headteacher Programme: Developing a Bespoke Curriculum. This innovative programme will interrogate what makes for an effective and stimulating school curriculum, looking at best practice in curriculum design from outstanding schools across the country. Each day will be led by a different Headteacher with a different curriculum approach. Opportunities to network and apply learning/new ideas to own school context. Aimed at Headteachers, Deputies and Curriculum Leaders, delegates will be supported to each design their own bespoke curriculum to meet the needs of their pupils.
The programme includes a one-night residential at Hazlewood Castle, near Leeds. This is intended to give delegates the time and space to develop ideas and collaboration more deeply and intensively as well as provide a refreshing change of environment.
The programme will be delivered over four days including a residential at Hazlewood Castle.
Each day will be presented by an Outstanding Head Teacher who is exceptional in his/her field:
Day 1 – Mark Unwin – Headteacher of Wilmslow Grange Community Primary & Nursery School
Day 2 – Rae Snape – Headteacher of The Spinney School, NLE, Head of National Support School and Lead of Kite Teaching School Alliance in Cambridge
“Connecting to the Education Eco-System for Societal Transformation”
This will be an interactive and creative session to give a flavour of how we have curated our school curriculum as mixture of national and international programmes and approaches.
Day 3 – Michelle Green – Executive Headteacher of Corngreaves and Timber Tree Academies, part of United Learning
Day 4 – Chris Dyson – Headteacher of Parklands Primary School, NLE, National sports school
- Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th October 2018 9am-3.30pm (plus overnight stay)
- Monday 21st January 2019 9am-3.30pm
- Tuesday 26th March 2019 9am to 3.30pm
The first two days will be based at Hazlewood Castle, near Leeds. The third and fourth days of training will be delivered at Meadowside Academy, Knaresborough HG50SL.
The programme costs £550 per delegate (£480 for subsequent delegates) for North Star members, £700 for non-members (£650 for subsequent delegates).
Please note that in the event of a cancellation the following terms will be applied: Cancellations within two weeks of the first event: 50% charge; cancellations within 48 hrs of the event/no show: 100% charge. If delegates do not attend all four days, your school will still be charged the full amount.
